About the Atomic Sports Rankings

Traditional computer rankings frustrate and confuse fans by attempting to blend multiple factors into a single best way to determine #1.

Fan Formula’s Atomic Sports Rankings have been designed to overcome this dissatisfaction by breaking down the debate into the six questions most heard in the stands, at the tailgate, and on the talk shows:

  1. Who has beaten the strongest teams?
  2. Who has looked the most impressive?
  3. Who would be favored by Vegas?
  4. Who’s playing the best right now?
  5. Who has been able to get it done on the road?
  6. Who are the best of the unbeatens?

By focusing on one factor at a time, Fan Formula’s Atomic Sports Rankings enable fans to evaluate all of the teams who have a legitimate claim to #1 and recognize why their Top 25 teams may be far different than those selected by their friends and the polls of the so-called experts.
