Week: 7

Last Week: 1-3
Year to Date: 15-9-1

MISSISSIPPI STATE +7.5 @ Tennessee

As my only winners last week I feel like I should stick with the “Other Bulldogs”.

Mississippi State has their D playing great, holding Vandy to just 113 yards last week.  That does not bode well for a UT team that could not get much going against Georgia and only rushed for one yard on the day.

MSU has actually looked pretty decent on offense since switching QBs a few weeks back.

Most seasons it would seem like too much for Mississippi State to go into Neyland Stadium and win, but this year UT has zero mojo, at home or away.

In fact, their students have started an organized boycott of the games. Allegedly, only 48 students had picked up tickets for this game by mid-week.

The non-student fans are not much more excited as they are all calling for Fulmer’s head. In their last home game, UT stumbled past Northern Illinois 13-9.

This feels like an upset and the final nail in Fulmer’s coffin, but take the points just in case he still has one of his nine lives left.

GEORGIA TECH -2.5 @ Clemson

I can’t be the only one who has watched the collapse of “Clem’s Son” with a healthy dose of schadenfreude. These guys have looked just awful all season and showed maybe the worst offense in the country last Thursday against Wake.

The bottom line for the Tigers is that the O-Line is full of holes and firing the coach is not going to fix that. Also they are without CJ Spiller and are debuting a young QB.

Wake broke out a special option game that gave the Clemson D fits. The Clemson LBs looked like they were wearing cement shoes out there, which is not a good sign at all with Tech’s triple-option coming to town.

I think Tech was playing opossum a little bit last week against 1-AA Gardner Webb and they have both their top QBs back for this game.

“Death Valley” was always overrated, but it should be especially non-threatening this week with a noon start time all the turmoil swirling around the program.

MICHIGAN STATE +3.5 v. Ohio State

Michigan State showed me something by whipping a good Northwestern team on the road last week. Coach Dantonio is a long-time assistant of Tressel and has given him very close games in the past when with Cincinnati.

THE Ohio State University seems inept on offense, mustering only 3 field goals last week at home against a sorry Purdue D that got blown up by Notre Dame.

The Spartans have a dominant run game and OSU lost a starting D End to injury this week.

Michigan State has a long history of blowing leads in their big games, but they should be able to keep it within a field goal even if that happens.
