Lame Ducks, and Beavers

Week: 13

Last Week: 1-1-1
Year to Date: 19-13-2

Well, I promise not to pick against Florida anymore; they have beat me into submission.

VANDERBILT -3 v. Tennessee

It’s getting late in November and at this point teams pretty much are what they appear to be.

Vandy is 6-4 (4-3 SEC) and is trying to sneak into a New Year’s Day bowl game. Tennessee is 3-7 (1-5 SEC), is coached by a lame duck Great Pumpkin, lost at home to Wyoming in their last game, and last scored double digits on Oct. 18.

This week UT plans to break out a freshman QB that “impressed” in a recent junior varsity game.

Not gonna help.

The Vols are 0-4 on the road and there is no reason to think they will turn it around against a Vandy team that got its confidence back with a big win last week.

OREGON STATE +2.5 @ Arizona

Arizona is 6-4 and is pretty tough at home, but they really have not beaten anyone good this year.

Oregon State’s D has a knack for pick-6s and Zona’s QB has a knack for throwing them.

The Beavers are on a mission to go to the Rose Bowl and have won 5 straight.

Aside from an August loss @ Stanford, their only other losses are to top 7 teams Penn St. and Utah.

Once again, Quizz will not be stopped this week. The points will not be necessary.

WASHINGTON STATE +7 v. Washington

These are probably the two worst BCS teams, bringing an 0-19 record against I-A competition into this rivalry game.

I’m not sure why Vegas thinks U-Dub is so much better, as they have put up less than 200 total yards on offense 3 of their last 4 games and State has won 3 or the last 4 Apple Cups.

Also, I think Wazzou has a motivational edge as they are trying to build under a new coach while Washington has lame duck Ty.

I’ll take the home team and the points in this snoozer.
